When most patients request something from the Make-a-Wish foundation, they go for something like a visit to Disney World or a ride in a Lamborghini. Cancer patient Giacomo Brancato wanted something else, though — a meeting with his hero, Donald Trump.
Donald Trump brought a cancer survivor who had asked to meet the Republican presidential nominee through the Make-A-Wish Foundation onstage at a rally on Saturday.During a rally in Fairfield, Conn., Trump said he had been contacted by the nonprofit in order to set up a meeting with 18-year-old Giacomo Brancato, who Trump said is in remission.”He is an unbelievable young man,” Trump said.
“I’m a big supporter of Trump. Everyone vote for Trump,” Brancato said when Trump invited him to take the microphone. “Make America great again.”Trump glanced offstage and addressed Brancato several times throughout the rally, at one point when he was promising to build a wall along the Mexican border.”I might lie to you like Hillary [Clinton] does all the time, but I’ll never lie to Giacomo,” he told the crowd.
He’s stopped to sign autographs for children (at one point signing a baby) and has brought his supporters up on stage frequently. Interacting with voters, for him, is obviously one of his favorite parts of campaigning -.Also, Trump has been a generous giver to charity. He took kids up in his helicopter at the state fair in Iowa and brought this young cancer patient on stage, in addition to his other charitable pursuits. Hillary Clinton has a charity, too … although she’d really prefer you didn’t bring that up.What Trump did with this young cancer patient shows the kind of person Donald Trump really is.
